Kenya, has confirmed more than 6000 cases of the new Covid-19 virus as of Wenesday, July 1st according to government information.
So far, the strategy has been one of containment. From nationwide shutdowns,lock-downs to travel bans, the hope is that by dramatically restricting the movement of people, countries can contain existing cases and avoid catastrophic outbreak that could quickly overwhelm local health systems.
While the success of these and other measures remains to be seen, the impact of the new COVID-19 policies have already trickled down to Kenya’s most vulnerable and marginalized communities.
To celebrate this years pride month we decided to distribute provisions of food stuffs and dignity pack to our members who were hit hard during the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.
